RLT Postpones 2020-21 Season

06/25/2020

Based on new safety guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in regard to social distancing requirements for audiences, performers, and volunteers, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to completely postpone our 2020/2021 season. We are postponing the season for one year, so our Season of Great Heights will now be RLT’s 2021/2022 season. We believe this is the best path forward for the theatre, given the information currently available.

At the moment, we intend to keep the original line-up for our season intact, and we are actively working on rescheduling the dates to 2021-22. Please know that although this is our current plan, shows are dependent on licensing availability and are subject to change.

If you have already purchased a season subscription for 2020-21, your subscription will be honored for 2021-22. You will receive additional communication today regarding your ticket options. Please email boxoffice@nullraleighlittletheatre.org if you have questions about your subscription.

New season subscriptions for the 2021-22 season will be available for purchase at a later date.

Embracing Change for 2020-21: What’s Next

Click here to watch a video from Heather Strickland, Executive Director, and Patrick Torres, Artistic Director, with more information on the current state of RLT and the changes ahead.

Although it is heartbreaking to completely move our season, we are looking on the bright side and are excited to embrace the new opportunities this presents. We will not stop offering programming, rather, we will find new and innovative ways to serve this wonderful community through theatre. We will select shows we know will be meaningful to our community while also allowing us the flexibility to operate inside of the new rules of engagement.

We’re excited to announce our first show for 2020/21 will be She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms, presented by Teens On Stage/Teens Backstage. This brand-new adaptation of the play She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen is specifically designed to be performed live in an online setting. Stay tuned for more information on how to buy tickets! Our teens are already hard at work, and we can’t wait to share this virtual play with you.

We are also happy to announce our annual Divas! cabaret fundraiser is officially moving online! Put on your finest clothes and tune in to Divas! from the comfort of your home on August 6. More information on how to attend will be available soon on our Divas! show page
