Seasonal Summer Camp Teaching Assistant

Raleigh Little Theatre (RLT) exists to create and teach theatre in a way that serves our community, offers a place for all to live their best creative life, and embraces diverse stories, artists, and students in meaningful and powerful ways. To support our mission, we are seeking Seasonal Summer Camp Teaching Assistants to join our team for summer camps.

What you’ll do…

• Support Teaching Artists during camp classes by working directly with students individually or in small groups
• Assist with activities and classroom instruction as directed
• Escort students safely to and from classes and camp spaces
• Lead and supervise bathroom and water breaks
• Monitor and supervise students during lunch
• Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and organization
• Help maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students
• Follow all camp policies and safety procedures
• Communicate classroom needs or concerns to Teaching Artists or camp leadership
• Assist with final camp sharings/performances

We’d love to hear from you if you are…

• At least 16 years old by the time of employment
• Comfortable working with children and youth in a group setting
• Reliable, responsible, and punctual
• A strong communicator and have the ability to collaborate effectively with others
• An individual with previous experience working with children. This is a plus, but not required.

Camp details…

Raleigh Little Theatre’s summer camps run June 15th – August 21st, 2026.

• Camps take place at Raleigh Little Theatre and off-site at Pullen Community Center Monday – Friday
• Regular hours: 8:45 AM – 4:15 PM
• Includes one 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks each day

Optional extended care hours (paid in addition to regular hours):

• Before Care: 8:00 – 8:45 AM (Monday–Friday)
• After Care: 4:00 – 5:30 PM (Monday–Thursday)

Teaching Assistants report to camp leadership and work directly alongside Teaching Artists.

Pay Rate: $10/hour

What to expect…

• Active, fast-paced camp environment
• Requires standing, walking, and supervising students for extended periods
• Indoor and outdoor work depending on daily schedule
