Exciting Changes in the Costume Shop

11/16/2018

Friends,

Our Costume Designer, Vicki Olson, will be retiring on Friday, November 30, which is opening night of “Cinderella.” We are extraordinarily happy for Vicki as she transitions into retirement and will most definitely feel her absence. Vicki has been on staff at RLT for 23 years, and in that time has built exquisite costumes for thousands of characters. Her impact on this theatre is immeasurable.

We have promoted Jenny Mitchell into the leadership role for our Costume Shop after Vicki Olson’s retirement. Jenny has been on staff at RLT for 11 years, and we could not be more confident in her ability to build on Vicki’s success.

Patrick Torres, our Artistic Director, recently sat down with both of them to record a podcast to talk about their history with the company, the future of the shop, and to say “thank you” from all of us. Click this link to listen to the episode.

Lastly, it’s our pleasure to let you know we have hired Jeremy Clos as our Associate Costume Designer to join Jenny Mitchell in the costume shop after Vicki’s retirement.

Jeremy has been working with Raleigh Little Theatre in different capacities for the past three years, including part-time work in the Costume Shop over the past two seasons.  He is a local designer with an extensive knowledge of fashion history and costume construction. His passion for volunteers and dedication to offering meaningful experiences for all who choose to spend time in the shop make him an incredible fit for RLT. His first full-time day will be December 3rd but he will continue in his part-time capacity until then.

Congratulations Jenny and Jeremy on your new positions and thank you, Vicki, for all of your work!

See you at the theatre
