Movies in the Garden: Hocus Pocus

October 7, 2021

RLT’s Louise “Scottie” Stephenson Amphitheatre (General Admission)

Join us in RLT’s Stephenson Amphitheatre on October 7 for a spooky good time at Movies in the Garden! We will be screening Disney’s 1993 witchy family comedy, Hocus Pocus.

Hocus Pocus
Rating: PG
Start time: 7:00 PM
Runtime: 1h, 36min

After moving to Salem, Mass., teenager Max Dennison explores an abandoned house with his sister Dani and their new friend, Allison. After dismissing a story Allison tells as superstitious, Max accidentally frees a coven of evil witches who used to live in the house. Now, with the help of a magical cat, the kids must steal the witches’ book of spells to stop them from becoming immortal.

RLT’s concession stand will be closed during the event, but adult beverages will be sold on-site by Raleigh Brewing. Picnics and non-alcoholic drinks are welcome! Please see the detailed rules below regarding what can be brought in. Additional food truck information coming soon.

The movie will be screened outside to an audience of up to 300 guests in the Stephenson Amphitheatre. Tickets are general admission and sold at pay-what-you-can pricing. We will have some seating rows marked off to encourage social distancing between parties. A ticket is required for all patrons, regardless of age. Masks will not be required when seated but are suggested in outdoor common spaces and required indoors. It is recommended that unvaccinated attendees wear a mask at all times. Costume parade & door prizes!

Attendees of all ages are encouraged to come dressed in costume to participate in our costume parade before the movie! All participants will get a special Halloween treat.

Additionally, all attendees (costumed or not) will be automatically entered to win one of three Hillsborough Street Dollars gift cards. Attending events in the Amphitheatre

Since the amphitheatre is part of a City of Raleigh park, please adhere to the following rules:

  • You are welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Only beer and wine purchased on site may be brought into the amphitheatre
  • The theatre reserves the right to check coolers for outside alcohol
  • No open flames or candles (including citronella candles – and especially no Black Flame Candles!)
  • No glass bottles allowed
  • Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash and be well-behaved. Please be courteous and pick up after your dog immediately if they “do their business” in the amphitheatre. Thank you!

Bringing blankets or chairs makes seating more comfortable. Lawn chairs or folding chairs work well. There is grass between the concrete benches, and chairs fit well in that space.

Indoor restroom facilities, which are wheelchair accessible, are available at the Main Stage lobby entrance. Porta-johns, which are also wheelchair accessible, are located to the left of the stage near the ramp.

The RLT parking lot will only be open to vehicles with disability parking placards as well as limited parking in the front half of the lot for anyone. The RLT staff parking lot is only for drop off of patrons with wheelchairs or mobility issues – no parking. You may park on the street where signposted.
