CANCELED: Pride and Prejudice

February 4 - 20, 2022

Cantey V. Sutton Theatre (Reserved Seating)

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Pride and Prejudice. Despite our entire cast and crew being fully vaccinated, the latest variant of COVID-19 has been moving quickly through the community. With our required quarantine times for positive tests and confirmed COVID exposures, it is becoming clear that we will not be able to complete the rehearsal process and present a fully realized version of the production at this time. Although it is a tough decision, we feel canceling the show best prioritizes the health and safety of our volunteers and audiences at this time. If you previously purchased tickets, please check your email for information on refunds or call the box office at 919-821-3111.

This isn’t your grandmother’s Austen! Bold, surprising, boisterous, and timely, this P&P for a new era explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life. The outspoken Lizzy Bennet is determined to never marry, despite mounting pressure from society. But can she resist love, especially when that vaguely handsome, mildly amusing, and impossibly aggravating Mr. Darcy keeps popping up at every turn? Literature’s greatest tale of latent love has never felt so theatrical or so full of life than it does in this effervescent and freewheeling adaptation. Because what turns us into greater fools… than the high-stakes game of love?

By Kate Hamill
Adapted from the novel by Jane Austen

Directed by Jeri Lynn Schulke
