Raleigh Little Theatre Hires Consultant for Organizational Assessment
Raleigh Little Theatre (RLT) has hired Big Change Consulting to conduct an assessment of the organization’s operating structure, employee compensation, and fundraising readiness. The scope of work includes: performing a compensation study to benchmark full-time and part-time positions against internal and external equity and the market; evaluating job duties, descriptions, and budget to determine if any organizational realignment is needed in order to effectively and successfully live into its mission; and developing a model for grantseeking and fundraising success anchored in research, assessments, and planning.
“With some key positions vacant at RLT, we have an opportunity to pause, evaluate, and make sure that we are operating in a way that is equitable and allows us to center the community in all the work that we do,” stated Executive and Interim Artistic Director Heather Strickland. “We have experienced a lot of transition and significant challenges over the past three years. As we look to the future with more certainty and a strong foundation, we have time to reflect and reimagine.”
RLT’s contract with Big Change Consulting began in early January and is set to conclude at the end of March. RLT leadership will determine next steps for filling vacant positions in February as findings from the assessment begin to emerge.
“The RLT staff and board have been committed to centering core values of justice, equity, and inclusion, as well as remaining thoughtful and reflective through some of the most challenging years in the organization’s history,” stated Board President Natasha Gore. “Pausing for an assessment of how we operate is in line with a way of working that truly prioritizes the community. It is the right moment for us to challenge patterns of the past and determine the best path forward to keep RLT moving in a more equitable and sustainable direction.”
