Steven B. Epstein

Board Treasurer

Steven B. Epstein is a litigation partner at Poyner Spruill LLP in Raleigh. He has been practicing law for more than 30 years following his graduation from UNC-Chapel Hill and the UNC School of Law. Since 2015, he has focused his practice primarily on divorce and family law. He has been very active in the North Carolina Bar Association, having served on its Board of Governors from 2014 to 2017. His civic engagements have included stints on the boards of the NC Legal Education Assistance Foundation and Community Partnerships, Inc., having served for two years as president of the latter. In 2017, Steve began a sideline career as a true crime author and has now published three books: Murder on Birchleaf Drive, about the 2006 murder of Michelle Young in Raleigh, Evil at Lake Seminole, about the murder of a real estate appraiser from Tallahassee, Florida, and Extreme Punishment, about the 2014 murder of Florida State law professor Dan Markel. Steve’s board service for RLT is intended to honor his daughter Madeline, who over the years performed in numerous RLT productions and served as a TA for summer camps; she will soon graduate from the University of Alabama with a BFA Theatre degree.
