Barbette Hunter is a professional actress who has performed with numerous theatre companies in the Triangle. She has a BA in Speech/Communications from NC State and did graduate work in Acting at UNC Greensboro. Since 2004, she has been a teaching artist for RLT and Cary Applause! Youth Theatre. She’s also worked as a stage manager of the Family Village Stage at the African American Cultural Festival since 2015. Among other awards, Barbette has earned 3 Canteys, the Charles V. York, Jr. Distinguished Service Award and two Al D. Wolfheimer Volunteer Awards. She currently works with the City of Raleigh as a program coordinator in the Office of Raleigh Arts.
