April Storm Perry


April Storm Perry is an actress, model, comedian, singer, and fitness professional from New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies from UNC Chapel Hill and has studied acting, comedy, and improv at the Barrow Group, Larry Singer Studios, Penny Templeton Studios, and the Pit in New York City, as well as the prestigious The Bristol Old Vic Theater School in England. She was a principal model in Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Pretty Powerful Campaign, has co-starred on NBC’s 30 Rock and TBS’s “Are We There Yet?”, has appeared in numerous national television commercials; and has held lead roles in various theater productions in New York City.

Her role as Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz” at Sing Sing Correctional Facility with Rehabilitation Through the Arts inspired her to teach acting to incarcerated adults and youth in New York City. In 2015 she started as a teaching artist with Drama Club NYC and later served as a Program Coordinator for the Young Women’s Initiative as Rikers Island where she helped lead classes in improvisation, storytelling, and co-direct the “Pivotal Rights” project at the Rose M. Singer Center, which was featured on NPR’s “The Takeaway.

As an improvisation and storytelling facilitator, she most recently completed the first Pilot Prison Project with See Sew Applied Theater Projects at Wake County Correctional Facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is also the lead actress and coordinating nutrition and education director of MY PLATE! The Food Guide musical which was supported by Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign. In addition to working as a teaching artist, she is also writing her one woman show, and co-hosts a monthly open mic and comedy writing workshop.
