Job Opening: Box Office and Front of House Supervisor

03/21/2025

Box Office and Front of House Supervisor

Raleigh Little Theatre – Raleigh, NC

Raleigh Little Theatre (RLT) exists to create and teach theatre in a way that serves our community, offers a place for all to live their best creative life, and embraces diverse stories, artists, and students in a meaningful and powerful way.  To support our mission, we are looking for a colleague to join our small team as the Box Office and Front of House Supervisor.

What you’ll do…

As the Box Office and Front of House Supervisor, you will be responsible for the administrative oversight and management of box office operations and front of house activities for all RLT productions and events. Your work will include: facilitating ticket sales, reservations, and box office communications; creating and maintaining RLT’s ticketing systems and ticket buyer database; and supervision and coordination of box office staffing and recruitment. In coordination with the Marketing Manager, you will establish and maintain box office policies and procedures, manage and implement audience growth campaigns, coordinate sales of student matinees, and identify and build relationships for partnerships and group sales. You will also collaborate with staff and support strategic marketing, communication, and funding strategies.

Some of your additional responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and ensuring lobby spaces and materials are ready for all productions and events.
  • Acting as the main contact for production and event accessibility requests, concerns, and communications, including scheduling and coordinating audio description services.
  • Maintaining box office supplies and managing merchandise and concessions inventory, ordering, and sales.

Essential to the work we do at RLT is our community of volunteers, and in this position you will also manage the front of house volunteer program. You will lead the recruitment, scheduling, training, and engagement of house managers, ushers, and concessions volunteers and liaison with staff to maintain and support consistent and successful front of house operations. For many, front of house volunteering can be an entry point for engagement at RLT and similarly, many community members first experience RLT as a ticket buyer and audience member. Through this role you will be a part of welcoming many new faces into the RLT community, contributing to its growth and setting the stage for their experience and engagement.

We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You are organized, detail oriented, and excel at managing a variety of projects simultaneously. Demonstrated supervisory experience is preferred.
  • You have excellent customer service and communication skills, both oral and written, as well as the ability to effectively interact with individuals of varied ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
  • You have strong computer skills and the ability to use existing technology to achieve desired results. Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases or electronic ticketing systems (we use Salesforce/PatronManager) as well as cash handling experience is preferred.
  • You are committed to continuous learning, training, and accountability in RLT’s equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism work.

Hours and location: Regular hours will be inclusive of weekday box office hours and thru opening night of all scheduled shows and events. Additional night and weekend hours will be necessary in line with RLT’s performance schedule. Shifts will be on site at RLT.

Salary: $42,000

This full-time, exempt position includes health, dental, vision, retirement, and life insurance benefits and flexible PTO.

Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Marketing Manager and supervises part-time Box Office Associates.
