Executive Transition at RLT

11/22/2019

Dear Friends,

Today we announce that Charles Phaneuf, RLT’s Executive Director since 2012, will leave the organization at the end of January. We have an interim operational plan in place and have formed a search committee to find his successor.

RLT has flourished under Charles’ leadership, and he will be missed. In addition to the expansion and growth of programming, budget, and space, he has embraced the community that RLT serves, ensuring that we are truly living into our mission of being a welcoming place for all. Because of this, we are well positioned to continue to thrive and grow under new leadership.

Charles has accepted a new position as President of the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County, which he will begin in early February. His last day at Raleigh Little Theatre will be January 28th. At the United Arts Council, he will succeed Eleanor Oakley, who retires after 18 years in the position.

To help during the transition, Lee O’Connell, Development Coordinator, will return in an interim capacity. She can be reached at lee@nullraleighlittletheatre.org or (919) 821-4579 x230. Patrick Torres, Artistic Director, will lead the staff and oversee day to day operations during the interim.

Please join me in thanking Charles for his service and congratulating him on this exciting new opportunity!

Heather J. Strickland, RLT Board President
