About the Show

Recent college grad, Princeton, moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. Along with his new friends, Princeton struggles to find a job, date, and discover an ever-elusive purpose in life. Filled with gut-busting humor and a delightfully catchy score, not to mention puppets, this truly unique show has quickly become a favorite for audiences everywhere.

About the Auditions

Please sign up for an audition night.

Please prepare 16 – 32 bars of a song in the style of the show. Something upbeat and fun, funny, or even quirky. Personality is paramount.

You must bring your own sheet music and an accompanist will be provided by the theatre. Please do not perform acapella unless that is how the song you will perform was originally written.

We encourage individuals of all ethnicities, abilities, identities, and orientations to audition.

Note that the traditional tracking of this show may not be used. We are open to exploring how we can remain true to the story and structure, while simultaneously showcasing as much community talent as we can. The solo casting of folks like Rod and Princeton, or Kate Monster and Lucy, as well as a more “non-traditional” ensemble, open up opportunities we are excited to explore if they present themselves.

Callback list will be posted on the RLT website by Noon on Wednesday, April 5.

Callbacks: Wednesday, April 5 in the Gaddy-Goodwin Teaching Theatre

Perusal copies of the scripts will be available for a 48 hour check out from the RLT office which is located in the rear of the building and opened from 10:00am-5:00pm Mon-Fri. Please call the business office to check on availability (919) 821-4579.
