Audio Description Dates for the 2017-18 Season
RLT welcomes people with disabilities to our theater. For complete information about accessibility, please visit the accessibility page on our website.
WHAT IS AUDIO DESCRIPTION? Audio Description is a narration service for individuals who are blind or have low vision. The audio describer provides an ongoing dialogue of visual events that are taking place on the stage, screen, at the museum, on a television, at the movies or even public speaking events.
Audio Description is commentary and narration that guides the listener through the presentation with concise, objective descriptions of scenes, settings, costumes, body language, and “sight gags,” all slipped in between portions of dialogue or songs. The patron using this service wears an ear piece so they can hear the describer explain the visual events taking place, providing a more robust experience to the listener. Read more about the service on Arts Access’ website.
