Montgomery Davis

Montgomery “Monty” Davis (they/she) is an educator and fight and intimacy choreographer based in the Southeast. They are finishing up their Masters in Teaching at North Carolina State University this December of 2025. They are also a BFA graduate from East Carolina University with supplemental training across the globe from The Society of American Fight Directors, The International Stunt School, Dueling Arts International, Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, Intimacy professional Education Collective, and many others. From teaching acting and musical theatre to stage combat and consent work as well as elementary education, Monty has over 12 years of experience in both traditional and non-traditional classroom settings. They are a huge advocate for students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities learning and growing through the arts. They are adamantly about creating “safe” spaces to be uncomfortable and explore the craft, with the ideas that we want to be comfortable enough to explore, grow, and communicate as learners. After touring and teaching across the country and and in Atlanta they are extremely excited to be back in North Carolina where they grew up and sharing their knowledge with their community. Their dreams have been to be able to bring stage combat classes to students in their area. For more information on their work outside of teaching please reference montgomerydavis.com They would like to send a thank you to the RLT staff for continuing to bring such great works and classes to the community, and letting them be apart of such great projects as well as thank their husband and three dogs for their continued support in this crazy artistic life. And who knows you may get to see one of them as he trains to be Monty’s service dog in class.
