Professional Teaching Artists

Are you interested in teaching at Raleigh Little Theatre? RLT’s Education Program serves hundreds of students a year, and want to hear about your special qualifications as a Teaching Artist.

At Raleigh Little Theatre, we value Teaching Artists from all backgrounds, arts disciplines, and experience levels. Our teaching opportunities include instruction in school year classes for youth and adults, spring and summer camps for pre-k through middle school, school residencies, and community partnerships. As one of our Teaching Artists, we encourage you to draw from your unique background as a professional arts educator and community member to provide dynamic and relevant instruction that is inclusive of our broad student base, ages two to adult. We believe strongly in continuous learning and welcoming beginners. At RLT, it is never too early or too late to begin.

We strongly encourage submissions and welcome Teaching Artists who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQ+, gender non-conforming and non-binary, neuro-diverse, and people with disabilities.

Teaching artists are hired as independent contractors for each program they teach.

Volunteer Teaching Assistant Program

Are you a teen or college student who loves theatre? Do you want to gain valuable life experience and credit toward classes and programs at RLT? If you answered yes, then being a volunteer Teaching Assistant (TA) at RLT is right for you!

Our Education Program offers TA opportunities for teenagers and college students year-round. TAs support our Teaching Artists by participating in classes and modeling exemplary behavior for students younger than themselves. Duties also include administrative tasks that help our classes run smoothly.

In return, you gain experience in arts education, build relationships with professional teaching artists, and earn credits toward course offerings at RLT.

If you are interested in being an RLT Teaching Assistant, please complete this google form. Our education staff will be in contact about current opportunities soon.
