Steven B. Epstein

President


Steven B. Epstein is a litigation partner at Poyner Spruill LLP in Raleigh. He has been practicing law for 35 years following his graduation from UNC-Chapel Hill and the UNC School of Law. Since 2015, he has focused his practice primarily on divorce and family law. His civic engagements have included stints on the boards of the NC Legal Education Assistance Foundation and Community Partnerships, Inc. In 2017, Steve began a sideline career as a true crime author and has now published four books: Murder on Birchleaf Drive, about the 2006 murder of Michelle Young in Raleigh, Evil at Lake Seminole, about the 2000 murder of a real estate appraiser from Tallahassee, Florida, Extreme Punishment, about the 2014 murder of Florida State law professor Dan Markel, and Deadly Heist, about a 1991 quadruple homicide and robbery of a downtown Denver bank. Steve began his board service with RLT to honor his daughter Madeline, who performed in numerous RLT productions and served as a TA for summer camps; she now holds a BFA Theatre degree from the University of Alabama and is making a go of it in New York City.
