Mia Self is the Assistant Director of Performance and Academics at North Carolina State University. She began her love of Shakespeare in the 2nd Grade playing Juliet (the only ingénue she’s since played). Tommy Chang, who played Romeo, called her a “big faker” because she watched the rest of the play after she stabbed herself with a rubber knife. She’s been making up for it ever since. She has a BA in theatre from Catawba College and an MFA in directing from the University of Mississippi.
