Job Opening: Education Coordinator (FT, Temp)
Temporary Education Coordinator
Raleigh Little Theatre – Raleigh, NC
Raleigh Little Theatre (RLT) seeks a full-time, temporary Education Coordinator to oversee the management and administration of its education programs for youth and adults. This is a temporary position anticipated from October 2021 to February 2022 that will report to RLT’s Artistic Director.
What you’ll do…
As the Education Coordinator, you will ensure all education programs run smoothly for all students, families, teaching artists and RLT staff from October 2021 – February 2022. The Education Coordinator will work within existing systems to accomplish this goal and also take initiative as a problem-solver as challenges, changes or new program needs arise. The Education Coordinator will serve as the main point of contact for all education programming both within the organization and externally, regularly communicating with RLT staff, students, parents, teaching artists and schools to plan and implement RLT’s various programs. The Education Coordinator will also oversee the management, scheduling and support of RLT teaching artists in school year programs as well as beginning the hiring and scheduling process for programs that are in the planning stage to keep all programs moving forward productively.
The Education Coordinator will need to work on site at RLT when weekly youth classes are in session to oversee class operations (this includes weekdays after school and Saturdays from 9am-4pm). There is flexibility in the hours and working location for performing other administrative duties, but consistent daytime, weekday hours will be necessary. The Education Coordinator will begin their contracted time working closely with RLT’s Director of Education, receiving training, onboarding and orientation to RLT’s education programs and systems. The end of the Education Coordinator’s contract will overlap with the Director of Education’s return to work to provide time for a smooth transition.
We’d love to hear from you if…
You have a background in theatre education and prior experience managing arts education programming for youth. Previous experience as a teaching artist or educator is preferred.
You are a systems thinker and able to proactively identify and implement strategies that ensure programs run smoothly and sustainably for all involved.
You are an excellent communicator in person, over the phone and via email. You are adept at anticipating the needs of all stakeholders and can head off challenges before they arise.
You have strong computer skills and confidence working with Microsoft and Google Workspace products as well as the ability to learn new software (CourseStorm) for managing registration.
You are committed to equity, diversity, inclusion and antiracism and particularly attuned to how this manifests in an educational environment.
