Auditions: A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder


Raleigh Little Theatre is seeking actors for all roles for the musical A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder by Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak. Auditions are June 17 & 18 with callbacks on June 22. The show will be directed by Patrick Torres.

Important dates

Auditions: Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18 at 7:00 PM. Registration from 6:30 PM. In the Sutton Theatre. You only need to attend one of these dates. Please register on our Signup Genius page.

Callbacks: Saturday, June 22, 1PM to 5PM in the Sutton Theatre

Rehearsals: Begin Tuesday, June 25

Tech rehearsals: August 10 – August 13

Preview Performances: August 14 and August 15

Performances: Opens August 16 and runs through September 1 with a possible extension through September 8

About the show

When the low-born Monty Navarro finds out that he’s eighth in line for an earldom in the lofty D’Ysquith family, he figures his chances of outliving his predecessors are slight and sets off down a far more ghoulish path. Can he knock off his unsuspecting relatives without being caught and become the ninth Earl of Highhurst? And what of love? Because murder isn’t the only thing on Monty’s mind….

About the roles

Montague “Monty” Navarro — Handsome, clever, charismatic, vulnerable and endearing. Discovers he is in line to become the Earl of Highhurst, and intends to kill off the family that stands in his way.

Miss Shingle — Monty’s unexpected visitor.

Sibella Hallward — The girl Monty loves.

Phoebe D’Ysquith — Monty’s cousin.

Auditions: Please prepare 16 bars of an audition song from a musical (no rock or pop) that showcases your voice, and bring the sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided.
