Take A Stand Against BullyingThe Raleigh Little Theatre youth education program recently created the new Public Service Announcement titled "Take A Stand Against Bullying" as part of project that will culminate in RLT's production of The Hundred Dresses in March. The PSA was created by drama students ages 10 to 13, who participated in a Video Production Class offered by RLT. The class was a way to extend the educational impact of our upcoming production of The Hundred Dresses, which centers around 10 year old Wanda who is relentlessly teased because she is poor and speaks with a Polish accent. Although the play takes place in the 1930's the issues of teasing and bullying are relevant today. The PSA gave our students the opportunity to speak up and take a stand. The class was taught by Johannah Maynard, area actor, director and playwright and Rod and Nancy Rich, owners of Monkeybravo, a video production company in Raleigh. The student actors are Leighton Harrell, Daniel Himebauch, Charlotte Hopson, Henry Hopson, Amory Lawson, Jessica McGee and Anna Grey Voelker. You are here: Home > Take A Stand Against Bullying |
