Comedy/drama. Journey to a simpler, more innocent past. A freak snowstorm has halted the progress of a bus and its few passengers, forcing them to take shelter in a diner for several hours in the dead of night. Based on Inge’s earlier one-act play, People in the Wind, this story involves a pair of young lovers struggling to find love in the modern world, and how spending a few hours together impacts the lives of ordinary people. A blizzard tale – with a heart-warming guarantee.
What the reviewers say about our show:
"The light humor interspersed with deeper truths and explorations of the human experience make accessible some of the greater mysteries of love and the meaning of life. Grace (Connie Di Grazia) plays the down-to-earth diner owner who grounds everyone and keeps the conflicts at bay, even though she claims, “I love a good fight!”"
-- Classical Voice North Carolina
"What happens when a snowstorm blows in and four quirky passengers and one sexually charged bus driver are forced to make an unexpected stop at a diner? According to Raleigh Little Theatre’s charming production of “Bus Stop,” William Inge’s slice-of-life circa 1955 comedy, the answer is “a lot.”"
-- Triangle Arts and Entertainment
"We walk right into Grace’s Cafe and almost expect the waitress to come take our orders. We also smell the aromas and hear the sizzle of cooking..."
-- Boom! Magazine
Thanks to the generosity of Larry's Beans, a Raleigh-based coffee roaster, we will be giving away free coffee to all patrons during this run!
