Scene Study: An Ounce of Behavior is Worth a Pound of Words

Wed, 11 August 2010, 8:10 PM
Learning how to approach a script is vital to an actor’s development. As actors, it is our job to make our characters come alive through behavior. Acting should never be about the words. Acting is about behavior. In this class, students will uncover the behavior in a scene through the use of character improvisation, private moments, exploring the shadow side of characters and a character interview. All of the exercises students learn will help to further engage their imaginations and belief in the world of the play. The class will culminate in a final presentation of the various scenes. Limit: 12 students.
