Songs for a New World

By Jason Robert Brown

May 14, 15, 21, 22, 2010
RLT Outdoor Stephenson Amphitheatre (General Admission Seating)

Musical. From the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to a ledge 57 stories above Fifth Avenue, a cast of characters perform 16 songs, each telling its own story: how to survive in a new set of circumstances – a new world – even against seemingly overwhelming odds, a world in which the old rules don’t apply and a world in which today’s answers won’t apply tomorrow. “It’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back,” says composer-lyricist Jason Robert Brown (creator of the critical smash Parade).

Director: Nancy Rich
