Scenes From American Life
Scenes From American Life By A. R. Gurney, Jr. September 4 - 20, 2009 Scenes From American Life is a sardonic trip through American history from the point of view of the late 60's, starting in the 30's and extending into the future of... the 1980's! Told through a series of disconnected vignettes that leap across time, this witty, trenchant work is written to show off the talents of eight talented actors, who have to portray a wide assortment of characters and situations, ranging from tragic to comic. And for all that the show's predictions are wildly off the mark (no, America didn't become a police state), there's still much that's still relevant in Gurney's biting social satire. Playwright A. R. Gurney Jr. also wrote “Sylvia” and “The Dining Room”. Director: Rod Rich Read the reviews:
