Sutton SeriesFive shows on the Cantey V. Sutton Main Stage Theatre. Lost In YonkersSutton Main Stage Theatre By Neil Simon. This coming of age tale, set in WWII, strikes a perfect balance between comedy and tragedy. It was the first play, considered by many critics to be his best work, to win Simon the Pulitzer Prize. Altar BoyzSutton Main Stage Theatre Music and Lyrics by Gary Adler & Michael Patrick Walker; Book by Kevin Del Aguilla A musical-comedy spoof about a boy-band on the last night of their national "Raise the Praise" tour. The Boyz - five ultra talented heart-throbs from Ohio - are lead singer Matthew (a pretty-boy hunk and leader of the pack), Mark (a sensitive young boy with a deep and abiding faith in Cher), Luke (a bad-boy with an interest in communion wine), Juan (a hot-blooded crooner with a passion for pretty girls) and Abraham (a nice Jewish boy, who's not sure how he ended up here …though his mother would sure like to know!) Our TownSutton Main Stage Theatre By Thornton Wilder. The history of Grover's Corners between the years of 1901 and 1913 are played out on stage. Routine daily activity becomes the subject of drama, from the morning milk delivery to the town choir practice. Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1938. Go to the Our Town show page. The Light in the PiazzaSutton Main Stage Theatre Book by Craig Lucas; Music and lyrics by Adam Guettel. A captivating musical of passion and romance. As mother and daughter from Winston-Salem travel through Italy during the summer of 1953, the daughter meets and falls for a handsome young Florentine. The Light in the Piazza swept the 2005 with six Tony Awards, including Best Original Score, and earned five Drama Desk Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards. Holiday ShowOur annual holiday show, now in its 26th year. CinderellaProgress Energy Center for the Performing Arts Fletcher Theater Based on a Fairy Tale by Charles Perrault Adaptation and Lyrics by Jim Eiler, Music by Jim Eiler and Jeanne Bargy. RLT proves again that dreams really can come true. The beautiful lass-who-lost-her-slipper makes her 26th annual appearance in hopes of finding her Prince Charming.
