Shelley Crisp

Board Past President


Shelley Crisp is a native North Carolinian who grew up and later retired in Raleigh.She converted a passion for literature into several university degrees and many years of classroom teaching. She sustained a commitment to education and the humanities through faculty appointments and administrative positions, finally retiring as Executive Director of the North Carolina Humanities Council. Crisp has served as a docent at the North Carolina Art Museum since 2010. In addition to her love for the arts and humanities, she enjoys gardening, tennis, and hiking.
