Meredyth recently joined Raleigh Little Theatre as Director of Education. She previously served as the Associate Education Director at Lexington Children’s Theatre in Lexington, Kentucky where she focused on creating meaningful partnerships with schools and engaging arts education experiences for youth and families. She holds her M.F.A. in Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Theatre from American University in Washington, DC. While in Austin, Meredyth worked intensively with Drama for Schools, a professional development program housed at UT Austin that trains teachers to use drama in the classroom. Meredyth created professional development curricula that was used in the Creative Learning Initiative, a district-wide program to increase and enhance arts instruction in Austin’s public schools. Her professional career as a teaching artist has taken her many places across the country including Lexington Children’s Theatre, Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, Rhode Island, Metro Theater Company in St. Louis, Missouri and Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland. She is also currently the Managing Editor of TYA Today, the top trade publication for the field of Theatre for Young Audiences in the United States.
