Classes for youth (ages 4-12)

The Raleigh Little Theatre Education Program is in its 20th year. We offer year-round instruction for children ages 4 to 12, as well as for teenagers – an initiative supported by two full time staff, along with adjunct faculty. More than 800 students enroll each year in classes, camps and workshops. These are offered on-site and in Apex through its Parks and Recreation Department.

Most of our classes focus on the process of creating theatre through fun, imaginative, nurturing, creative play and ensemble building. Some of our classes for the seasoned student are geared more toward performance. Each session of classes culminates in an Open Classroom to give parents and friends a taste of the participants’ everyday experience in the program.

Wednesday Session III: Scene Study For Real
January 14 - February 25
Wednesdays, 5 - 6:30 pm
Acting is not pretending. Acting is becoming and above all else, you've got to keep it real. So how do you make your character believable? How do you make a scene seem so real? How do you make a rehearsed moment seem to be happening for the first time? Through scripted scenes, students will explore techniques for keeping it real on stage.
Instructor: Barbette Hunter
