Classes for teenagers

Wiley and The Hairy Man

The Raleigh Little Theatre Education Program is in its 21st year. We offer year-round instruction for children ages 4 to 12, as well as for teenagers – an initiative supported by two full time staff, along with adjunct faculty. More than 800 students enroll each year in classes, camps and workshops. These are offered on-site and in Apex through its Parks and Recreation Department.

Most of our classes focus on the process of creating theatre through fun, imaginative, nurturing, creative play and ensemble building. Some of our classes for the seasoned student are geared more toward performance. Teens can focus on a broad selection of disciplines, such as scene study, musical theatre, improvisation, make-up artistry, dance or Shakespeare. Each session of classes culminates in an Open Classroom to give parents and friends a taste of the participants’ everyday experience in the program.
