Access Theatre Now! SESSION 3 CANCELLED

Ages: 7 and up

This class gives students with physical, emotional, learning and developmental disabilities an opportunity to gain self-esteem, improve social and communication skills and explore new modes of self-expression – all in a non-competitive, structured atmosphere. This session will culminate in an open classroom highlighting the individual talents of all involved. Support staff is welcome. No previous experience necessary. Limit 12 students.

Cost:

$90 for sessions I, III and IV - 7 instructional hours
$50 for session II - 4 instructional hours

Tuesdays , 5:30 – 6:30 PM

Session III: January 19 – March 3
Session IV: March 16 – May 4 (no class March 30)

Play On!

Ages: 8 – 9

Class focus: Students will continue to explore story dramatization but with more emphasis on group work and improvisation. No previous experience necessary. Limit 18 students.

Wednesdays 4:30 – 5:45 PM, or Saturdays, 10:45 AM – 12 Noon

Cost: 

$95 for sessions I, III and IV -  8.75 instructional hours
$55 for session II - 5 instructional hours

Wednesday Session III: Fractured Fairytales
January 20 – March 3
Wednesdays, 4:30 – 5:45 PM
There’s no telling what kind of characters will come to life as students get a chance to change some well-known fairytales.

Wednesday Session IV: Prop Bag Theatre
March 17 – May 5 (no class March 31)
Wednesdays, 4:30 – 5:45 PM
Stories from a bag? Imagine that! Using various items from the prop bag, students will work together to create believable characters and exciting stories.

Saturday Session III: Fractured Fairytales
January 23 – March 13
Saturdays, 10:45 AM – 12 Noon
There’s no telling what kind of characters will come to life as students get a chance to change some well-known fairytales.

Saturday Session IV: Prop Bag Theatre
March 20 – May 15 (no class March 27 or April 3)
Saturdays, 10:45 AM – 12 Noon
Stories from a bag? Imagine that! Using various items from the prop bag, students will work together to create believable characters and exciting stories.

Acting Out (APEX)

Ages: 9 – 11

Free your imagination and discover yourself on stage!  Through scripted scenes, students will explore character development, character relationships, memorization skills and rehearsal techniques.  No experience necessary.  Raleigh Little Theatre instructs. Limited to 16 participants.

Hats Off! To Mother Earth Workshop

Ages: 6 – 10

Or, rather, hats on, as we create extraordinary and outlandish hats from recyclable materials (newspapers, magazines, paper bags, paper plates, cardboard, bottle caps, you name it ...just as long as it can be recycled or composted). A “green salute” to our planet, in a lighthearted observance of Earth Day. All materials provided in this make-and-take workshop. No previous experience necessary. Limit 12 students.

Cost: $40

Date: Saturday, April 17, 1 – 4 pm
