Access Theatre Now! SESSION 3 CANCELLED

Ages: 7 and up

This class gives students with physical, emotional, learning and developmental disabilities an opportunity to gain self-esteem, improve social and communication skills and explore new modes of self-expression – all in a non-competitive, structured atmosphere. This session will culminate in an open classroom highlighting the individual talents of all involved. Support staff is welcome. No previous experience necessary. Limit 12 students.

Cost:

$90 for sessions I, III and IV - 7 instructional hours
$50 for session II - 4 instructional hours

Session III: January 19 – March 3
Session IV: March 16 – May 4 (no class March 30)

Apex Players (APEX)

Ages: 10 – 13

This performance class is for the serious actor who is willing to work on character creation, relationships on stage and memorization. Actors will learn bold choice-making and teamwork, all while exploring scripted material. The session will end with a bare-bones production of In One Basket, by Shirley Pugh. Discover what is needed to stage one dozen folk and fairy tales. No experience necessary. Raleigh Little Theatre instructs. Limited to 12 participants.

The Adventures of Nate the Great

Acting Out

Ages: 10 – 11

Class focus: Students are introduced to basic acting skills and vocal training through the development of believable characters in improvised and scripted scenes all in an atmosphere of fun. No previous experience necessary. Limit 18 students.

Thursdays 4:30 – 6 PM, or Saturdays, 10:45 AM – 12:15 PM

Cost: 

$110 for sessions I, III and IV - 10.5 instructional hours
$65 for session II -   6 instructional hours

January 21 – March 4
Thursdays 4:30 – 6 PM
Students will be introduced to language, character, movement and voice as they encounter chanting witches from Macbeth, mischievous fairies in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a foreboding ghost in Hamlet and a crafty magician and his sprite in The Tempest.

In this performance class, students will develop acting skills, explore character creation and experience the fun of being part of a traveling ensemble. Entrance is by audition only. Cost:  $170 - 18 instructional hours plus tour hours
