Beyond The Stage Door Field Trips!
Raleigh Little Theatre’s award winning education program is proud to offer this exciting drama-based field trip. The two hour field trip includes a one-hour workshop and a one-hour backstage tour.
Choose one of the following workshops:
- Stories Alive! (grades K-5): Students will participate in theatre exercises designed to sharpen skills every actor needs to bring a story to life using their body, voice and imagination.
- Actor’s Toolbox (grades 3-8): Students will engage the actor’s tools of body, voice and imagination to create characters and short scenes. Fun theatre games help to reinforce the value of focus and the importance of teamwork.
- Intro to Improvisation (grades 5-8): Through collaborative theatre activities, students will practice the necessary skills for improvisation including listening, making strong choices, spontaneity and the golden rule of improv: saying yes to the scene to create a story!
- Shakespeare 101 (grades 6-8): This active, engaging workshop helps students discover the meaning of Shakespeare’s language as they bring his words to life through performance activities.
If none of these options meet your goals, you can always request a particular workshop topic, and we will do our best to create a unique, engaging experience for your students!
Between the workshop and the theatre tour, students may choose to take a half hour lunch break. The group supplies the lunches.
With this one-hour backstage tour, students will get a rare look at the world the audience doesn’t see including the costume shop, dressing rooms, backstage and the scene shop. Students will also get an actor’s view of our stages.
