Session 3: SHAKESPEARE SCENE STUDY

This series will explore the basics of acting through activities that get actors ready for the stage vocally, physically and emotionally. Students will explore the magnificence of Shakespeare’s dialogue and text, his rich characters and exciting plots. They will learn fun techniques for decoding this flowery way of speech, helping students to better understand and speak the language with ease. Clown work and physical comedy will enhance some of the scenes and students will discover ways to reveal status in Shakespeare’s world.

Session 4: A COMPANY OF PLAYMAKERS

March 11 - May 6

Most ground-breaking, community-changing theatre and performance is made through a collaborative process. In this class, students will use this process to create their own piece of theatre. They will write and workshop together, direct together and perform together. There will be a public performance of their final piece. Place and time will be determined.
